Woman’s Own Bingo
Woman’s Own Bingo probably looks like a really weird name for a bingo site unless you know that it’s named after a popular women’s weekly magazine – and if you didn’t know that before, you do now! This is the official iGaming presence of the magazine, and we’re putting an emphasis on “iGaming presence” because we’re reluctant to call it a bingo site. If it were truly a bingo site, it could be able to offer players a lot more bingo games than it actually does. As it happens, there are only four bingo rooms at Woman’s Own Bingo. It’s a bizarre disconnect between name and content, but it’s far from the only one of the Genie Riches sister sites to have this issue. Woman’s Own Bingo is actually one of several Grand Battery Holdings sites to have connections with women’s magazines, and all of them are presented in roughly the same way. That “same way” involves low-value welcome promotions, very few bingo games, and a generic collection of slots that’s no different from the slots selections at most of the Genie Riches sister sites (and Genie Riches itself). If we owned the rights to Woman’s Own Bingo, we might ask why more effort hasn’t been put into our site.
Total Gold
Jumping straight from Woman’s Own Bingo to Total Gold means we can see the two most common templates among the Genie Riches sister sites in use. Both templates are more suited to slots sites than bingo sites, but we’ve seen them used for bingo sites plenty of times. Total Gold at least manages to deliver on its name – the only colour you’ll find at this casino is gold. It comes in many different shades, but it’s always gold. The welcome promotion at Total Gold is far worse than that of Woman’s Own Bingo, though, with some truly horrible wagering requirements attached to both the bonus and the free spins that come with it. Aside from having a sticky welcome promotion, Total Gold’s other big problem is that it looks old. The design of this casino is badly dated, and the games it’s chosen to spotlight on its homepage don’t help much with that feeling of being behind the times; they’re perfectly good slots, but they, too, are several years old. In Total Gold’s favour is the fact that it has a loyalty rewards scheme, but the scheme is very hard to follow. There are better casinos to visit on this platform than this one.
Slotahoy
Well, that didn’t take long. We told you that there were better casinos among the Genie Riches sister sites than Total Gold, and then Slotahoy immediately turned up to prove our point. We’re a little disappointed that there aren’t any pirates at Slotahoy, as the casino’s name comes across as a hint that there ought to be, but it has an attractive nautical theme instead. Slotahoy looks just fine for what it is, and while it might not be the biggest online casino site you’ll ever see, it’s a perfectly serviceable one. Slotahoy was made with the same template as Woman’s Own Bingo and perfectly demonstrates that the template is better suited to casino sites than it is to bingo sites. There are plenty of other Genie Riches sister sites that look and play like Slotahoy, so we can’t say the casino stands out from the crowd, but there’s enough decent content here to keep players of most kinds entertained. Ultimately, if you’re looking for something that doesn’t feel far removed from Genie Riches, Slotahoy fits the bill. Don’t expect much from the casino’s welcome promotion, and you probably won’t be disappointed. Even having said that the terms of the promotion are fairer than anything we’ve seen so far.
Love Hearts Bingo
It’s a real shame that Love Hearts Bingo is as ugly as it is. It looks amateur enough when you load the site on a mobile device, but if you load it on a laptop, it looks positively broken, with the “join now” button overlapping some of the text on the homepage. We know Grand Battery Holdings didn’t build this website – it came here as part of the same package purchase that brought all of the other Genie Riches sister sites to the platform – but that doesn’t absolve the operator of responsibility for its shabbiness. They could and perhaps should have given the site a fresh coat of paint by now. The reason we say it’s such a shame that Love Hearts Bingo doesn’t look better is that it’s actually pretty good if you’re willing to look past the ugly veneer and examine the site’s content. For a start, Love Hearts Bingo has no wagering requirements against any of the promotions that it offers. Compared to the horrors that you’ll encounter at plenty of the other Genie Riches sister sites, that’s a major positive. It’s also been fitted out with some of the best bingo rooms on the Grand Battery Holdings platform, including the Royal Room.
Spinzilla
The name “Spinzilla” comes from “Godzilla,” as in the legendary star of Japanese (and Hollywood) horror movies. It’s not a particularly clever play on words, but it’s a play on words all the same. Godzilla is very famously enormous. If you’re going to invoke the monster’s name when naming your casino site, you’d best make sure your casino is big enough to justify it. Spinzilla, however, was put together using the same template as Total Gold. You can probably already see where we’re going with this. The Genie Riches sister sites that were made with this template all have the same issues. Their style is dated, and the selection of slots that they focus on in the “popular slots” section of their home pages includes some badly outdated titles. Even the “new games” a little further down the homepages aren’t as new as you’d expect the games that appear under such a heading to be. Perhaps the biggest drawback is that there’s nothing to choose between the sites. There’s no reason to pick Spinzilla ahead of Total Gold or vice versa. Perhaps this is unkind, but there’s actually no reason to pick either of them when you could be playing at one of the better Genie Riches sister sites instead.
